Ready to pick up a guitar for the first time or build on the skills you already have? Good Vibes Guitar Lessons with Steven Isaac offers beginner and intermediate instruction in a relaxed, encouraging environment where students can build confidence, develop practical guitar skills, and learn to make music they enjoy.
Lessons are held every Friday at Whimsical Threadz, located inside the Collaborative Building in Downtown Clare, Michigan.
Left and Right handed players are welcome. However we only offer guitar rentals for lessons for right handed players at this time.
Guitar rentals are available for in class instruction only for an additional $10 per class paid in person on the day of the class. Rented instruments may not be taken home at this time.
What Students Will Learn
Lessons will focus on building a strong musical foundation, including:
The parts of the guitar — learn the different components that make up the guitar and understand their basic functions.
Guitar tuning and alternate tuning — learn how to properly tune your guitar as well as explore alternate tunings.
Chord recognition and understanding basic chord shapes.
Your first five chords and how to transition smoothly between them.
Tab (tablature) reading and how to use tabs to learn songs and guitar parts.
Major and minor pentatonic scales and how they are used in guitar playing.
Improvisation — begin using chords, scales, and techniques to develop creativity and your own playing style.
Basic guitar technique, rhythm, and timing, along with other fundamentals appropriate to each student's experience level.
The goal is to give students a practical foundation that helps them understand their instrument, play with confidence, and continue developing their own musical style.
